This coming Sunday 11th December I will be performing in a concert of Christmas Harp and Voices with the wonderful Voce Chamber Choir, lead by Suzi Digby OBE. Not only will we be performing the seasonal classic, Britten’s ‘A Ceremony of Carols’, but the choir has commissioned four new carols for harp and voices, which will be premiered on the night!
These are:
‘A Cradle Song’ by Mark Lawrence
‘Woods in Winter’ by Tim Sutton
‘Love is Born’ by Shirley Thompson
‘The Praise of Christmas’ by Nick Strimple
(I may also have written a fun harp part for Ralph Allwood’s fantastic arrangement of ‘We Wish You a Merry Christmas’!).
I am delighted that the repertoire for harp and voices is being expanded, and that new music is being included in our traditional festive celebrations – what a beautiful combination of sounds, and a wonderful time of year to celebrate through music!
Come along to Grosvenor Chapel in Mayfair, this Sunday 11th December for a heartening evening of festive music making. All details and tickets here.
