I am delighted to have been a part of the latest CD released today by The Carice Singers, a wonderful vocal ensemble specialising in bringing new life to choral music by British composers. The album, on the Naxos Label, features music by Frederick Delius and Arnold Bax, and the harp features in Bax’s ‘Of a Rose I Sing a Song’. I had not come across this piece (for choir, harp, ‘cello and double bass) untilĀ I was approached about recording it with the choir, and what a discovery it is! It somehow has the diversity of content of a much larger piece, plenty of drama, and all of the beautiful colours and contrasts for which Bax is so loved.
I hope you will enjoy the recording – it is available in all the usual places, including Spotify.
