On the 8th October I ran my first half-marathon in aid of The Prince’s Trust, a charity I have wanted to support since I was appointed to the post of Official Harpist to HRH The Prince of Wales. As well as fundraising online, I also organised a fundraising concert at one of the local churches in my village. I was quite overwhelmed that seventy people attended! A very big thank you again to those who helped organise the event, and of course to everyone who came to hear the concert and who stayed for a chat over a glass of wine thereafter (I hope it will be the first of many in this lovely community!)! I then ran 13.1 miles around some of the most beautiful parts of central London, managing to complete the course in 1 hour and 51 minutes. I am absolutely delighted to say that together, we raised £1,289 (including gift aid) for this fantastic charity which offers invaluable support and opportunities for disadvantaged young people. There is still time to donate if you would like to – my online giving page will be live until early November, and can be found here, and you can find more detailed information about The Prince’s Trust by clicking here.
