In the last few weeks St John’s Choir have released their new disk, ‘Kyrie’, with Signum Records. I was delighted to be asked to record Janáček’s stunning ‘Otčenáš’ with the choir and their director Andrew Nethsinga for this album. The piece is a setting of The Lord’s Prayer taking in diverse musical materials, with close interaction between the harp and organ accompaniment. I was new to this piece when I was approached by Andrew about the recording and I am so pleased I have had the opportunity to get to know it!

I will be returning to St John’s College on the 7th October 2017 to play ‘Otčenáš’ again as part of the Evensong service. In the same service we will also be playing Ian Shaw’s ‘I sing of a maiden’.

Working with this incredible choir is always a highlight!

You can find ‘Kyrie’ on Spotify, Apple Music or by clicking here. There is also more information and a video message about the CD from Choir Director Andrew Nethsinga here.
